Awdalland patriots in Johannesburg held a large meeting to support the independence of the Awdalland region of Northern Somalia and the unification of the people of Awdal and Selel. This meeting was organized by Awdal elders and the well known Awdalland Youth called DA’SAMO, who have always been pro Somalia and anti division. The ‘Support Awdalland’ event forms part of the demonstrations held across the Awdalland region the date the Somaliland Clan (isaaq) elected Criminal Siilaanyo and the selection of ‘all-isaaq’ leaders for the Isaaq Clan.

The event was designed to drum up support for Awdalland and its route as an independent part of Somalia.

The Somaliland Clan militia headed by Criminal Siilaanyo is trying to hijack the history of Northern Somalia and the important part all other non-isaaq clan’s played in the history of Somalia, as the Somaliland Clan is going around with a false version of a history that begins from 1991, like a ‘reborn baby’ all that existed prior to that date, which the Isaaq clan had very little influence on has been swept under the carpet, but for Awdal and SSC patriots false history is hard to digest, and to have a criminal such as Siilaanyo as the leader of a bordering clan (the Isaaq) is hard to accept let alone acknowledge.

Awdallanders are beginning to wake up; however, by the time the majority of Awdallanders become fully awake it might be too late for any immediate progress.
