The frustrated Somaliland Clan have threatened the renowned Somali Artist Amiin Caamir for the arts he displayed to show the events in all parts of Somalia including the SSC region, in an interview with the BBC Somali Amiin Caamir explained that he receives threatening emails that claim he will be killed and similar absurd comments stating that he should fear for his life and stop the pictures of Somalia he is doing. He added that he is only trying to show the current affairs of Somalia in a fair way, he has no allegiance, he is only telling the truth about Somalia as he sees it, even capturing events that mainstream reporters are too scared to report.
Amiin Caamir’s recent images included the well known and loved Somali singer SAADO ALI WARSAME, who has recently produced songs to tell the world of the events in Northern Somalia and the threats faced by the SSC civilians from the Somaliland Clan Militias. Her song for the SSC town of Laascaanood became an instant hit around the world, leading to an attempt by the Somaliland Clan to send threatening messages and try to ban the songs from their controlled areas but with little success. Somali people around the globe reproduced multiple videos of the song with images of the SSC people to show the world the meaning of the song in images. In addition, her popularity and respect among the Somali people has increased as her tour around the world lead to her being welcomed as the Queen of the people of Somalia.
Amiirn Caamir also depicted an image of Saado Ali when she sang the much loved song ‘Dal Qudha’ which literally means ‘One Country’, this has made her loved by all Somali patriots across Somalia south to west and around the world.
