SSC Girl 16yrs Old Physically Abused By Somaliland Clan Militia

We have received reports of the physical abuse by the Somaliland Clan Militia in Buro, young girl aged 16yrs old who was wrongfully taken to prison by the Militia has been sexually abused by her captives according to allegations from the region. The girl who is originally from SSC has been studying in the town and is accused of nothing more than belonging to the SSC people and having the idea of a united Somalia.

She was initially heard by colleagues of speaking about the torture in SSC to her friends and people around her who are part of the Somaliland Clan, she was then accused of belonging to SSC peace progression team, which she denies. Her parents are devastated by the news of abuse as it has been only two days ago she was forcibly taken to prison.

The human rights abuse on the innocent people of SSC has increased tremendously across the region, especially since the elections of the SSC peace and progressions team.

The Somaliland Clan Militia has been increasingly tense and worried of the swift support of the newly elected SSC leader Dr Saleban, as since the SSC elections Laascaanood has become unsafe area for the Somaliland Clan Militia due to the overwhelming support of Dr Saleban by the civilians of the town. Most recently, the Somali TV showed the Clan Leader Faysal Ali Waraabe attempt to visit the town was greeted by the throwing of stones and demonstrations by the children and woman of the town.

It is still unknown the extent of abuse on the young SSC girl in the Buro prison, however, her life is certainly at risk and parents continue to plead with clan leaders, although after the recent reported physical torture of the girl by the Somaliland Clan Militia, it is unknown what action if any the parents will take. All attempts are being made across the region to inform human rights advocates who seem to turn blind eye to the SSC civilian abuse situation according to one SSC critic.
